Preferable Genres

Alternative - The alternative genre tends to use more concept and narrative based, rather than performance. This allows for more creativity and individuality.

Pop - Pop music videos are usually more performance or narrative based. To make a music video of this genre would probably be the easiest as you can focus much more on artist image rather than concepts.

Dance - Dance music videos tend to me more narrative based. If making a narrative music video, I would be enabled to be a bit more creative and come up with a story line which is in-keeping with the lyrics.

HELLO

I'm an A2 media student and this blog is following the research and planning of my coursework task which is to create a music video as well as to digipaks to help promote it.

For me, this is really interesting as I enjoy spending time listening to music and expanding my music knowledge. The music industry is an interesting one as there are so many aspects to it and music videos allow artists to portray their own interests and concepts and so hopefully I will be able to do this in my own music video.

If you follow my blog, you'll be able to see the progression from the early research stages, including the basic concepts of music videos as well as things I see and find in my everyday life that I find inspirational and will want to encorporate into my final product. From this you will hopefully (and eventually) be able to see the finished product of my music video.
